Sorry, for 'figuring' in the last line above, read 'flickering'. Photosensitive epilepsy is commonly described in leaflets as unusual or rare. That's not my experience. The important thing is to stay well clear of any kind of strobe effect, light or sound
I've had blackouts, associated with epilepsy, for well over 50 years. Two or three can occur in the space of a single evening. Some advice: be very careful if you're passing fence posts or anything similar. Light shining through these, even faint light, results in a strobe, which results in many people in photosensitive attacks. Don't walk quickly in such places, but at a measured pace. One morning, years ago, I found two policemen standing over me. A bus driver, about 30 metres away, had noticed me lying collapsed on the road surface early on a January morning.. I'd been walking quickly past an old, fenced garden, not noticing the flickering light. Not just light can do this. I've noticed throbbing sound can. Message: if in a railway station or something similar, stand well clear of any platform edge. Even more important: avoid discotheques, with figuring light and sound.
yes I have the same kind at times I will be laying in the bed just laying back sleeping sometimes or doing something on my laptop like i am doing now and my mom and dad will hear me have one and I will fall off the floor and hit the ground and I have also been known to be in the kitchen and fixing me a drink out of refrigerator and I fell and hit the floor one time and had to get stitches in my lip so don't fill bad and I am tell u it was not a fun feeling. One time I had one and I woke up and I looked and my laptop was laying on floor I am surprised that was not damaged
Sure, I have. I broke my nose the day before my 50th birthday. I couldn't do anything and celebrate until I didn't look like a raccoon. I have broken countless number of teeth. When I woke up one time I needed 2 total knee replacements. God only knows what I was doing in my post ictal state. Lol So you aren't the only one.
i recently lost consciousness and hit the pavement with my face. i thought it was a blackout seizure but the doctors didn't think so because i had not wet myself and i remember hitting my face but not falling and i was able to walk back (bleeding profusely) about a block and a half to my daughter's apartment.
