I have just been reading a small article I found on the new vns implat...called aspire
You don't have to swipe the magnet! For me this may take some of my stress about making sure I always have the magnet, at one time I didn't bring it to the shower with me, I didn't fall....but I slid to the floor, not knowing how long later...I realized I was on the floor and I had to open the door and call for my husband to help because I had a good size seizure and didn't have my magnet
I need this,… read more

According to the Physician's Manual it can tell you the number of AutoStims per day but not what time they went off. So it is hard to say whether it is due to a seizure or due to jumping up and down.

At last a forum to air my complaints. I had one put in a year ago with the same thoughts. I don't have auras so I don't know when I'm going to have a seizure. Hopefully, this Aspire or Model 106 would help because it would respond to increased heart rate. I am currently having as many seizures as before. (2-3 per month) and taking as many pills as before. I asked the VNS makers if they could tell me if the HR trigger went off and they said they would have to do an extended download but I can't get them to do one. They said my Dr. has to request it and I couldn't get my Dr. to request it. The VNS makers are very pushy with their product but think twice about it. Read some of their more technical papers on their website they didn't test it that well.

I had that put in six months ago. Like everything else your Dr can set how sensitive it is. Meaning it goes off only when needed not just with increased physical activity. Also it only works with certain people who have been known to have increased heart rate right before a seizure. For me in 6 months my heart rate hasn't triggered it once so I don't think it will help me at all. Hope this helps

Interesting Kent I've had no problems like that. When I see my epileptologist she has all the info right there in front of us on her tablet. Tells us how many times I used the magnet how many times the heart rate set it off. Takes about 5 minutes to read it all & adjust it. I've also never even met anyone from the makers of the product I guess every Dr does things differently or should I say $$$$ does.
