I'd definitely stay away from off-the-shelf products. This may help: http://www.holisticonline.com/remedies/flu/cold...

Ugh...I'm on 3,000 of Keppra a day and just got over a horrible cold. Honestly, I was afraid to mix ANY cold/flu meds with Keppra and the 2 other meds I take for epilepsy. I'm in enough of a fog from the meds without adding anything to it. My dad always used to say, " if you take cold meds, your cold will go away in a week...if you DON'T take any cold meds, it will go away in 7 days."...LOL! So, I stuck it out, was miserable for 5 or 6 days, and that is normal for a cold. I just took Tylenol to help with the sore throat and drank hot tea. Good luck and feel better soon!
