My daughter was given the Aspire106 VNS in May of this year. So far, she hasn't experienced anything negative, but in my ongoing research, I've wanted to hear from people about the complications they might have encountered at any point during their VNS therapy.
ok i have this VNS for 21 year now what do you want to know? It does effect your voice drive me nuts also use the magnet two time a day once in morning like good morning and before you go to bed saying good night you nothing it won't bother as much.
Just losing my voice when it stimulates and also the feeling of someone pressing their fingers against my throat. However, mine was turned up VERY high and I didn't have these problems until it was high. I just had the battery replaced (it malfunctioned and was making my heart rate go up to 130+ so they needed to replace the battery to get it working right again) and the pocket moved so it's very low right now. We will see what happens.
oh yes one time the doctor first turn it on then turn it off and then sew me up and left me for 10 month saying there nothing wrong till one doctor said she not turn on so we went and got the doc the one i wanted to turn it on for me this was a 8 hour surgery because the skin had went over the stimaltor then they get in there put a new stimalator in there was a huge fight bewteen doctor I was just thankful someone knew what they were doing.
that's what i'm worried about what if they can't get blood out of me or i seizure on the operating room table
I wish I could have a dog but this apartment and housing said no. but the only problems with doctor saying surgery going be at 6am don't have till 1230pm try to get blood out of me you couldn't then I didn't no seizure when i was nice and low but they turn it up I have seizures you try to tell them this they won't listen
