Can epilepsy meds affect your eyes and hearing.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. I didn't know at first then the more the doc talked the more it did make sense. I'm very light sensitive with my seizures so I notice way to much. Lol. The other thing I forgot to post in that answer was making sure the glasses fit over the eyes almost perfectly because that can cause siezures to. They always readjusted mine when I had glasses to make sure they were correct. And the bend over the ears apparently too much pressure from the frames and if they hit a certain spot can cause them too. Wow that's alot from my teenage years to remember. Lol

I found out that depending on the meds I was on determined if I needed glasses. Well that and weight. When I switched to keppra the eye doc said my vision was perfect now and I wouldn't need glasses. But he also said to be careful of eye glasses because if the glass isn't done right u can have a siezure. His father had siezures and his daughter also. And the guy that made glasses in his office had siezures. Lol they were the best.

Yes but only if take to much medicine I did when my dr put me on tegretol but I called him next day he lower it by one less pill of the same nor no problem and sz free 16 yrs now, hope this helps

Yes I often have blurry vision and ringing in my ears

Hi, yes they can , you need to go a speak to ur doctor soon as, it's a chance ur having a side affect to meds xx
