I wa diagnosed as a child, so don't know any different. I use public transport and mini cabs/ taxi's. When out with family, they drive .

I have to use public transportation or rely upon friends and family. The state of CA and federal government feel as though that I don't have seizures often enough to qualify for disability. As a former manufacturing, and construction worker I don't see how they come to that conclusion

Myself, I live alone, I am in a rural area, no public transportation and nearest store is 10 miles. I am very careful to keep friendships / relationships with my neighbors good. I have several ladies that take me with them shopping when they go and several other neighbors that offer often.
Its tough. Its a problem cooking when i need something simple or just out of milk. , clothes shopping and things that take time when i dont want to inconvenience friends.
But i manage. i will keep on doing it as well. I keep my shopping lists handy. I keep ready to go on short notice to take advantage of opportunity's. I still get it done, Just not on "My " schedule.

If you have no taxis , buses or friends that can drive you . Then I would move to a public area that has taxis and bus and disability buses. Good luck with your kids.
