I get smells, really strong. I usually end up asking if anyone else can smell it?! They don't!

That is how i knew something wrong. It started with the smell - for me it was metallic. I went 2 years and then started getting lost in familiar places, high anxiety and just tired all time. This led up to grandmal. Never expected Epilepsy! I still get the smells and sudden fear, headaches and nauseous. The meds have controlled the complex partials, but auras still come.

Skunk smell that no one else smells is an oddity of mine. It falls under focal seizure. Simple partial seizure. Look it up.

I found that my son can sometimes avert an aura if he starts breathing into a paper bag. There is a Russian Dr, Buteyko, who has written that CO2 excess and Oxygen deprivation can avert a seizure or an aura. Do read him up. It works sometimes.
