I was taking Phenobarbital in Jr. High age 14. The side effects were very bad with me. I was always tired, and always acted out of it. It seems like my neurologist at the time even tried "Escabarb" for a short time also. It is a long lasting Phenobarbital type medicine. I couldn't stay on this very long. Maybe 6 to 8 months I was on it until an evaluation showed it was effecting my mental attitude. Be careful !!!

I was on it at the age of 16. Tegrital also. I was seizure free at 17. But remember we are all different.

A lot of meds can slow down our learning. That doesn’t make us dumb. We just have to work harder to understanding it.

I forgot to mention: phenobarbital also affects your bone density. It has been lowering my bone density for years. I now have osteoporosis in the hip.
