A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My Dr said that the best treatment for Me is going to be radiation, so my questions are about the side effects and any advice about before and after

Well I'll be praying for you but they already did all of those tests and when they found the area the zooming in on that part of the MRI and found a small lass too deep for surgery so they said the best option in radiation

I'm not sure about Radiation. The best treatment that I know of and have gone through is a 24 hour video EEG with Brain Speck test added. This in turn can locate the area of your brain which the irregular brain waves are coming from. The Brain Speck test is a mapping of the brain while a seizure is active. Given an IV medicine, and like an MRI scan to map your brain. This with the EEG will pin point the seizure focus area. An MRI of the Brain alone is a good test to check for tumors (such as Tuberous Sclerosis).
Good Luck in your testing.
My testing showed my seizure focus area is the left temporal lobe, and I've had a Tumor removed 4 years ago also which didn't help my seizures.
This October I'm having the RNS implant put in by Rush Medical Center. Wish me luck.
