Internal / Battey Operated / Medicine Delivery Systems????
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

The day by boyfriend seen this website, he sent it to me and I downloaded the app. He said he seen a posting about some kind of internal or battery operated medicine system. But I have no idea about this and I don't know the official name for it. Does anyone know what this is or how I could find this posting on here?

Thanks - Kristy

There is also an RNS, which is also surgically implanted. I know you can only have one or the other, but I can't tell you anything about the RNS, sorry.

There are some side effects they don't tell you about. It can effect your vocal chords, minor or major. You will not be eligible for a regular MRI ever again. You have to be wanded through security. It will destroy your cell phones and they have to be replaced every 3 months.
Minor ones for the wonderful benefits that it gives you if it works right.

Hi Kristy, I have had the VNS for at least 17 years and it changed my life. I went from having numerous seizures a day to just a few a month. Now you need to understand that it does not work this way with everyone. One special thing about the VNS is you are given a "magnet" which is very high powered and you or another person can swipe over the person's chest when having a seizure - and that instantly takes the seizure away! I have done this to my self several times (it usually makes me cough) but it is worth it.
