Hair Loss ?!
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone SOO I had a question I take keppra 3000mg a day and I take lamotrigine 300mg a day. And I've been noticing in the shower and when I brush my hair that I lose a lot of hair and it's really scary and embarrassing.. Does anyone know of any solutions? Any way to help? Please let me know.

I have to try that shampoo and conditioner, I feel like an old man and I'm only 37, it is embarrassing, I may notice it more than anyone else. The thought of losing my hair is SO EMBARRASSING!

Hi my daughter use to be on the same meds and we noticed the same thing happening. So I bought her a thinking shampoo and conditioner. They can be a little expensive but the result was seen. When I go home I will find the name of the one we bought and send it to you if you would like? ☺

yeah i'm getting this at the moment (keppra & lamotrigine) i was like washing my hair in the shower looked down and saw a load of hair in the bath. It was a bit disturbing at first but then i remembered reading it in the side effects of the medications. it's not one or two strands now and then but a good sizeable amount to notice that hair is coming out on a regular bases i think it might be a good idea for me to book an appointment with Dr bring my appointment forward

I went through that with Depakote. the best thing to do is call your neuros office and set another appointment up to let them know.

I was also. I have lost a lot of hair and get mone colored every 6 weeks. My stylist suggested products to help and give it that healthy look. One thing I have noticed that has helped a lot is not to blow dry my hair, not wash it daily, use better products and only flat iron it when I need to. At home it stays in a pony tail.
