Does Anyone Have A Diagnoses Of A Cavernoma, What Treatments Have You Used?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husbands MRI showed a lesion in the temporal region of his brain, a neurosurgeon who was brought in to consult on his case told us he believes this lesion is a cavernoma. Does anyone have any experience with this diagnoses and possible treatment plans?

Mine was not a cavernoma, but scar tissue from 104 fever(3-days) . The reason I answer, is that the EEG was done to find it. Once found all seizures were combing from one place, test was done to determine if it was safe to remove that piece of the brain. Long story short... Removed that piece of the brain, discontinued seizures. Details too much... Contact me if interested in the more information

Go to AVM survivors web site. I have an AVM. They are somewhat similar to AVMs. There is a lot of information on that site and treatment options.

I haven't been diagnosed with Cavernoma, but I did some reading on it. And depending on where it's located, they may do neurosurgery. The othe treatment is a Stereotactic Radiosurgery. Basically they send a single concentrated dose of radiation, aim directly at the Cavernoma.
