My son was diagnosed with Childhood Absence Epilepsy a couple years ago. We have tried different medications: ethosuximide, valproic acid, and now a combo of valproic acid and lamotrigine. Some work for a while and either wear off or the side effects become too harsh. We are looking for a good doctor to help us through this and are willing to travel anywhere in the US to find our son help. We have not had good luck in the Cincinnati and Dayton area.

My son sees Dr. Lisa McGuire in Indianapolis, IN. She's at Peyton Manning children's hospital. She's an amazing neurologist and the entire staff is incredible. It would be quite a drive for you though. Here is her info:
