Has anyone experienced eye problems caused by their epilepsy and or AEDs? I had eye test yesterday and they said that I have synapsis and must wear glasses full time! My eyes strain to focus on anything!!
Thanks!

Thanks for the information! It's good to hear that I'm not the only one!
I have been taking Lamitrogine for the last twenty years, along with other AEDs!
I have my glasses and they have made a huge difference and I don't have as many headaches which is great!
Thanks for your answer! Not many people said anything!
Hope you get vision sorted soon! Eclipse must've been quite different but also great! Hahaha!
Thanks again!

Visible changes on the outside no, but was getting worse! I have glasses now though and they make such a big difference! No more eye strain headaches! How about you?

Did either of you have visible changes in your eyes?

YES! :-( This has been a serious issue for me ever since I started taking Lamictal. I have a hard time reading and often can't drive at night because the lights are so blurry and confusing. For me this side effect resolves fairly well when my dose is stable, but it takes quite some time to resolve. My last dose change was in early March and my vision is still impaired.

The FUN experience I had with this side effect was that when we had that spectacular full lunar eclipse a while back, I was seeing double - two moons and two eclipses!!

I hope that this side effect resolves for you and that you won't have to continue with the glasses.
