well an aura is considered a simple partial seizure. but you can also just have simple partial seizures by themselves.

i guess it is kinda like all thumbs are fingers but not all fingers are thumbs.

all auras are simple partials, but not all simple partials are auras,

BeverleyBibble the simple partial seizures include differing types: motor seizures, autonomic seizures, sensory seizures, and psychic seizures. For each of us, the actual seizure is a little of our own. An example is my auras, which can be described in the sensory and psychic seizures. In the psychic, one may feel outside of the body, have fear, depression, or happiness with no reason, or experience a deja vu (seen before) plus jamais vu (feeling normal is new). The sensory can a sight, smell, feel, hear, or taste something that does not exist. In seeing things that do not exist, or smelling something out of place, I know a more advanced seizure is coming. How to differentiate the aura and seizure has become almost impossible for me, but my training is in business(BS), economics(MAgr), education(certification) and religion(DMin). Cary, who has personally studied epilepsy and a member of My Epilepsy Team might have additional information. He has helped my understanding.

Sounds like a partial, personally I get migraines after I have partials not auras but it could differ from person to person

I usually get a massive migraine after a seizure. So I think both

I have complex partial seizures and tonic clonics. With my complex partials I don't get auras but with my tonic clonics I do. Sometimes I just get an aura and nothing happens. But when I do get an aura I take a medicine my Dr. Prescribed me. When I take it 9/10 it makes my aura go away.
