Surgery Or No Surgery For A Benign Brain Tumor?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Found to have a benign tumor in right front temporal lobe. It causes my epilepsy. Options to do nothing and or have surgery.

I would go for it . I've never had a brain tumor, but had epilepsy since I was a baby. I also have had the brain surgery and help me a lot. I still have seizures, but they are much milder

You should find out the risks and side effects first before going ahead with this it's better safe then sorry. If you do go ahead with this then I hope all goes well

If it meant to that I wouldn't have seizures anymore, then I would do it.

That is a tough decision to make, I hope that everything will be answered in honest detail by your doctor regarding your personal need and for the emotional support of that decision, I couldn't imagine what you must be feeling finding out that it is a tumor causing the epilepsy, however if it makes your life better then you know the answer must be yes, I would do all the research you could, and ask as many questions of your doctor, I think that you are brave to think of this, I wish you the best.
