I went into an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for 12 days for constant VEEG monitoring audio/visual monitring as well. Thats so they can hear how you respond to the nurses after or during an aura hits. The visual component of monitoring is for your safety. But every day the epileptologist comes in and lets you ask questions about what he's said, basically you and the dr. are a team. And after a certain amount of days----it COULD be up to 12---- the dr. comes back with his findings and best course of action for you.
