Why Are My Seizures Getting Worse
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is there a reason why my seizures are becoming more frequent and starting to occur in clusters? I'm just worried i'm going to start getting memory loss or damage even though they haven't found anything on scans

Your body may have become tolerant to your medication dosedges and you may need to increase it to reduce/control them better again. I would contact your nerologist and try to sort it out with them/in regards to potentially increasing your medication dosedges.

Yes, you should talk to your doctor. My doctor is really good at responding (usually calls me back the same day) and is very proactive. If yours isn't you may want a different doctor.

There are many reasons from what your going thru. You may be getting over tolerated to your meds, your med levels, maybe low, you may just need a stronger dose or stronger medication. You could be lacking sleep, stress, anxiety, over excitement( some people) , and not taking meds on time. Then there are certain foods, drinks, over the counter drugs that can affect or weaken you medication.
Keep track of what you did that day. If you go into a seizure try and remember what you did before having that seizure and whether or not , that was cause. Another thing you may want to do is talk to your Dr. at your next appt. sooner or later you'll struggle a lot with memory loss. Between your meds and seizures, you can't win. You'll struggle with memory loss.
