Going Into The Hospital For A Week. How Not To Be Bored?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Next Monday I am going into the hospital for a week in the epilepsy monitoring unit. Can't shower, got to mainly stay in bed. What should I do or bring so I don't get bored? Do you think they would let me bring my playstation so I can play during the day? What have you guys done when you went to the hospital for monitoring?

When i went into the epilepsy unit I took my phone to play on and call my husband and kids. I also took books to read, crossword puzzles, spent a lot of time sleeping due to the amount of seizures I had due to no meds.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, that's what I did too; I was 15, then in mid-20s when I did it again; so they seem to be the same!

When I was in for monitoring I brought books to read and color in. Also I got to bring some movies and my laptop. Though I am not sure if every hospital is like that? At the time I was in the Pediatric section.

Bring your iPad or smartphone w/ to keep in contact with this web site. Then bring a deck of playing cards , puzzle books , electronic games and even some app game on your iPad or iPhone. Grab a duffle bag and pack all your fun items in it . Then take w/ you to the hospital so it's in your reach.
