My doc told me it was my "Emotional Side" (Right Side) of my brain where my Seizures come from. Was told to try to control my emotions. Any ideas?
My seizures mostly re located in my left temporal lobe of the brain..
But I have a couple o smaller areas too
I was just wondering
I have a terrible time with my balance and it’s been the result of both my epilepsy and my seizure meds.
I've had epilepsy all my life. About 20 years ago I had temporal lobectomy surgery. The past few years seizures are out of control again and it's started affecting my memory worse. They did some tests and I was diagnosed with dementia. I asked what kind of dementia and all they say is it's caused from your surgery. Has anyone had to deal with this? Hopefully not, but I'm just scared and confused.
I'll have to look into this. I get a different diagnosis from each Dr. One told me my memory was gone and my tempro love had disintegrated?? Made no sense
Thank you 😊 you explain it better than the… read more
I've been having moments while I'm driving and suddenly don't know exactly where I am. Eventually, I figure it out, and I've never veered from my original intended route. Nonetheless, it's frightening to think this has happened three times. Is this epilepsy, early onset dementia, Alzheimer's or something else? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
Ye, time to time, no prob ,
I have memory problems due to a TBI. I believe the frontal lobe impaired awareness seizures I have and the meds I take make it worse. If I get the RNS , lower my meds and stop having seizures will it get better ?
everyone is different
I would appreciate from those of you on long-term seizure free state or great operations such that you do not take the medication. Likewise, I would like to hear from those who have reached a long-term seizure free state on alternative treatment, and what your memory (memory recall, short-term memory or long-term memory) whatever has been hampered gotten any better or worse.
Finally, the same questions for those of medication too.
And have any of you noticed any time changes to other basic… read more

I had a conversation with a few people here. We all have had difficulties speaking. Getting confused, slurring words, dyslexia getting worse, not being able to put sentences together properly, etc.
If that’s a seizure, what type of seizure is it?
Or is it more likely just side-effects of medications?
Thanks.
Thank you for the hug.
Has anyone else here ever experienced issues with social integration due to their seizures? Such as: awkwardness because you had a seizure in a social setting (perhaps a petit mal . . . and maybe the person you're with doesn't recognize it as being a seizure?); or maybe the damage to your memory leads you to not be able to remember names of new acquaintances; or maybe you cannot recall the would-be nostalgic memories of experiences you've shared with closer friends; or maybe while in your… read more

I give you a hug! New high dose makes me work fast and get grumpy then cannot sleep all thru the night. The Dr said this will pass!
Can you lose your memory with seizures?
Actually, doing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been a huge improvement in my memory access range and memory recall speed because the biggest blockage was not because of epilepsy or the side… read more
