I am on Keppra and having more seizures lately but keppra is a good drug for me. but what is keppra xr for?

XR is a time release med. It has a longer half life (and hopefully you'll have less side effects like drowsiness, etc.) A good example is like taking a 24-hour allergy tablet versus a 12-hour allergy tablet.

my son originally had absence epilepsy (staring seizure), he was put on Zarontin , it was amazing, didn’t see side effects & completely controlled them. our absence seizure turned into grand mal when he turned 13. trying to get them under control
