It has been suggested to me from multiple people that I try to get a seizure alert dog. I approached my neurologist. He said that it would not be beneficial.
Does anyone know of a person who suffers from complex partial seizures and has a vns implant that utilizes the ability of a seizure alert dog? After thinking of it for awhile, I started thinking of possibilities.
Because I live alone, it might help me when I have seizures at home.....
What do others think?

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Having a service aninal trained is expensive but there are a LOT of programs who fund it for you. The waiting lists are just long.

I've had a seizure alert dog all my life! my parents always had a dog and the dog self trained he knew when I had a seizure. One day I remember I fell outa bed onto the floor and I was pinned in-between the wall and the bed. The dog was lying by my side. My parents were looking for our dog...then found him next to me on the floor
that day dad said "you always need a dog" the dog lead us to you to help you. This is just one incident as a child. Dogs are wonderful and self train and you can get a trainer also. get a dog that you like and you feel you bond with.
