Anyone Else Experience This?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Whenever I have grand mals (and only grand mals) I suffer from "bradycardia" during them. It happens all the time, and I had no idea until it showed up on a EEG I had done. I'm still waiting to have a diagnoses, anyways my question is-
Does anyone else suffer from that, and what causes it? My neuro said it could be a heart, brain, or blood pressure thing. And I guess to follow up, does it happen all the time or only with grand mals like me. Thanks for reading :)

Very scary, I hope you get answers. My son has Grand Mal seizures his heart rate drops so low. He turns blue in his hands, face and legs. He has a heart murmur as well. We keep an emergency Diastat, it pulls him out of the seizure and brings his heart rate up very high. Then off to the ER.
I'm keeping you in my thoughts and wish the best for you :)!

Bradycardia is a slower than normal heart rate. The heart usually beats between 60 and 100 times a minute in an adult at rest.
