A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I remember years ago when I was a kid that I was getting ready for school and has some sort of absence seizure. I was still moving around and getting dressed but did not know what I was doing as when I came around I was wearing the wrong clothing
Very very embarrassing but I was wearing my sister skirt at the time. Was asked why I dressed like it and until this day I still don't know why and don't remember doing it. I was miles out of it
Ok so yes I always wanted to be a girl right from the… read more

I love to embarrass myself. My husband worked for the police department for a period of time in the city we lived in so just about every officer knew who I was. I had a Tonic Clonic Seizure while 6 months pregnant in a parking lot. It went out over the dispatch and EVERYONE on duty heard my name and responded not only from the PD but the Fire department. (the fire chief was a family friend)

Of course I hadn't had a full blown seizure in MANY years so no one knew what was going on with me and I wasn't really responsive. SO they cut off my shirt... there I was in front of EVERYONE shirtless! Awkward! The responding EMT was a guy that I went to high School with. When I finally came out of being postdictal I had a person I hadn't seen in over a year sticking an IV in my arm... I punched him in the nose and broke it!

I had another lovely Complex seizure. My Husband & I were sleeping then I sat up and got out of bed (almost fell down). I was having a seizure. My Husband came around to put me back to bed but I began to scream at Him " Don't touch me, leave me alone " and I was waving my arms at Him. The next thing I know, I fell down and sprained my ankle. I finally came out of it and I was like "WHAAA!"... I was placed on another new med...HAHAHA.. You think I live in Hollywood!

I used to have my seizures in my sleep. I was put on a new med and had a Grand Mal but during it, I peed. That never happened before. I did it a couple of times again but changed my med and then it stopped. It must have been the lovely side effect of the med.

One of the firsts I had but was not noticed by anyone as a seizure....I was sitting in class in hs reading a book & I seized. For some reason everyone thgt I just fell asleep. My book & pen went flying across the room.It was study hall so everyone just went about their business. Here's another one...if you asked me if I was having a absent seizure I wld say no but as soon as I came out of it I wld tell you I was having a seizure. My sister in law always said I turn into a compulsive liar during seizures lol!!!
