I'm Considering Getting A Vagus Nerve Stimulator(VNS)...?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Please tell me what your outcomes have been like and any side effects. How was the healing process like? Were you home healing for a long time? I'm going to school so I would have about 4 days unless I planned it over a week break. Thank you.

I coughed 4- a whole 3.5 months. Plus mine neck is still soar off & on. All in all if u- can stand pain. The pain is not really an issue it's the stupid coughing. Then I couldn't hold me bladder or nothing. For almost 3- months. Then all of a sudden the coughing went away just like that (PRAISE - GOD)..

I have had three VNS's. They all last about 5 to 7 years and then need replaced. It isn't anything to be scared of! I had the first one that was done in this area so I was breaking ground in a way! But, I did not have ANY problems with the VNS! You will feel a little buzz when the doctor first turns it on but that isn't done until a couple of weeks after the VNS is inserted. And they don't turn it up all the way at on Earth! So you can take time to get used to what it feels like! I cannot tell mine is there unless I happen to run my fingers over the area where it is!
