SCN1A Gene Mutation Anyone Have This?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have the SCN1A gene mutation? My son was tested earlier this year and came back positive. Apparently this puts him on a spectrum between gefs+ and Dravet syndrome. Anyone have any useful experiences? Thanks!

Did you ever get any answers? My 17 month old just started having myoclonic and tonic clonic seizures after his temperature elevated from his MMR & chickenpox vaccines. They think it is due to a mutation in the SCN1A gene. They are working with insurance currently to try to get genetic testing approved so they can verify it. He is currently taking Topamax because he had a lot of aggression after trying Keppra.
