Stomach Pain After Seizures
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How long does it typically take to get over seizure? It usually takes me about a day with this is day three and I'm still exhausted. I also had severe stomach pain yesterday that made me double over. I had a discussion with a friend about it and she said she gets the same thing for different reasons. She's explained exactly what I was feeling. Have you guys ever had stomach pain after seizures. She reassured me that it was not appendicitis like I had thought.

It could be a medication side effect. When I'd have a seizure and get loaded on Depakote it would give me bad belly pain. I went to my PCP for two episodes of the same thing before a correlation was noticed.

I would say journal after you have a seizure and then the pain you are experiencing. I noticed once when I combined by AED with another med I vomited so I didn't do that again. I now take it alone, maybe with a little food.

It isn't
It's just your stomach reacting to your seizures or medication (acid levels ore rotation )
