Swelling Of Hands And Feet On Oxcarbazepine
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone experienced swelling in their hands and feet when on oxcarbazepine? I've started to self medicate with anti histamines and it's getting better. I'm seeing my epilepsy nurse tomo so hoping for some answers

Well I am on keppra the generic and they said that the generic works better than the name brand for some reason and lol I have lost some weight. Its been rough that is all I can say. Seizure meds are the worst and I hate being on them but they stop me from having seizures. I hate it but it helps me not to have them. I have been feeling off. I am guessing between being stress and being sleep deprived it has seemed like the seizures has kicked them up.

Yes I had the same problem. I gained 20 or 30 pounds within 2 days.

I am taking Keppra and Oxcarbazepine. My feet only swell if we have rain for a few days.
I have lost weight. I know Keppra has helped because one of the side effect is lack of appetite. However, I also change my diet because I wanted and am still working at losing more weight.

My Oxcarbazepin was lowered one tab in the morning and one in the evening. Doing away with one Dilantin mid day, still on one morning as d one at night. Also added. Xcopria now up to 150mg at night. Maintenance level desired 200 mg. Started at 12.5. Cost on that one about 1100.00 a month. Thank you insurance

I take keppra and oxcarbazepine . I've been through so many meds. These works the best for me. However not all bodies react the same. I'm praying for you
