Anyone On Vempat?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I was looking into the new medication Vempat (I might have spelt it wrong) is anyone on it? If so does it work well? What are the side effects?

My daughter takes vimpat, she has been for about 2 years now. The only side effect I know she had was dizziness.

I tried it for about 6 weeks but it reacted badly with one of my other medications. It's spelt Vimpat but I knew whatcha meant :)
Vimpat is a sodium based drug as is lamictal and that can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Meaning it was going to work really well or completely and totally fail for me. It failed, thanks doc.
I didn't notice any side effects until about 2 weeks after taking it (about the time I increased the dose) and that's when I started to get awful vertigo. To the point I couldn't get through classes and had to go to the nurse's office.
Please keep in mind that I am not a doctor and that I am not a doctor and each drug is different for each person.

I was put on vimpat last year and was on it for only a few months before I was taken off of it, it worked great for the few months I was on it the only side effect I experienced was cystic acne and it was horrible. I looked like I was 13 again and just hit puberty!
