There are several in my family. My grandad had it (he passed away in 2003). My dad has two cousins with epilepsy. I have it and my 5 year old son has it. We also just found out my cousins' son has seizures, as well. I have always wondered who in the past generations were epileptic and it was kept quiet and hidden because of the fear, shame and unknown.

My aunt, her daughter (my cousin), my cousins' daughter(my second cousin) and I all have it. All on my dads side of the family.

As far as I know, I am the first, mine started in my mid 30 s and this caused a lot of stressed on me. I have lost my job because of it but after a 6 months the company I worked for called me back and offered me another position. I am one of the more fortunate ones, thank God.

I'm the first person in my family to be born with seizures. My uncle has them because of a car accident.
