Has Anyone Had Benefit From Topiramate Lowering Seizure Count? Or Has This Medication Needed To Be In Combination With Something?

I began taking Topamax in 1996 under the care of a wonderful epileptologist. At the time the dosage was rather high and eventually was lowered over time as we found the lower dosage worked. I began taking the generic when it became available. I'm curious if anyone has been on this medication for a long time and how they are doing with it. My current epileptologist has already been contacted. Would you mind sharing your thoughts on this question with me? I appreciate it.

Hi, I would like to ask for an opinion. My son has been diagnosed with generalized myoclonic-astatic epilepsy, a syndrome characterized by continuous spikes and waves during slow-wave sleep.
